Algae Spin

AlgaSpin 675 – Continuous Flow Algae Centrifuge

“Clean Water, Pure Biomass, Zero Hassle”

The AlgaSpin-675 Filtering Centrifuge is a simple, reliable, and cost-effective solution for labs, universities, and research institutions working with algal slurries, bacteria suspensions, and bio-liquid filtrations. Designed for continuous, gravity-fed operation, it eliminates the need for pumps, high-pressure fittings, or consumable filters. Delivering up to 3,620 g at 6000 RPM, the AlgaSpin-675 removes particles down to 1 micron from algae, bacteria, juices, and other suspensions, making it an ideal choice for bio resource labs and algae harvesting applications.

Key Features

  • Gravity Fed – No pumps, no pressure, no expensive fittings
  • Single Pass Filtration – Run the slurry once for separation
  • No Consumables – No messy filters to replace or maintain
  • Quiet Operation – Custom motor < 32 dB noise
  • Reliable Drive – Direct drive with variable rotor speed
  • High Capacity – Rotor holds over 675 mL ≈ 22.8 fl oz.
  • High Temperature Resistant – Operates up to 85°C liquids
  • Compact & Durable – Lab-friendly size, robust build

How AlgaSpin-675 Works

The centrifuge applies High g-force (3,620 g) to the liquid in the rotor bowl revolving at 6000 RPM, creating a forced settling effect. Denser particles and solids are trapped inside the bowl, while clean liquid sprays outward, collecting on the housing walls and draining through the outlet. The system uses a ball valve to regulate slurry input and directs separated water and biomass into separate collection containers.
